About OYOFE
Our mission
OYOFE is an African street dance platform that gives voice to African and Afro-descendant communities. Through festivals, battles, training, youth programmes and international exchange, we create professional pathways and visibility for emerging dancers from Africa and the diaspora, reclaiming our own narratives with authenticity, pride and unity.
Who we support
We work with emerging African and Afro-descendant street dancers. Some are young artists from Côte d'Ivoire, Cameroon, Ghana, Nigeria, South Africa and beyond, who have exceptional talent but few professional platforms and major barriers to travel. Others are Afro-descendant dancers and youth in Barcelona and across Europe, who rarely see their culture represented on professional stages.
What we do
OYOFE Festival
Two international editions a year (July and December) in Barcelona, with masterclasses, a Beginner Camp, battles (1v1 All African Styles, 3v3, country battles), shows and a public Block Party. Named Best Festival 2024 by Time Out Barcelona.

- Mobility and visas. We invite emerging dancers from Africa and prepare their full Schengen visa dossiers: invitation letters, financial guarantees, travel and accommodation.
- Paid, professional work. Artists are paid and credited as teachers, judges, performers and hosts.
- Pathways. Dancers move from our classes and battles to teaching, judging and performing on our stages.
- Visibility. As one of the largest African street dance festivals, followed by 56,000 people on Instagram and over 960,000 on TikTok, OYOFE uses livestreams and filmed battles to reveal emerging talent and give a platform to the pioneers of our community.
- Residencies and the stage. We are planning artist residencies for 2027, and we put African street dance in front of a seated audience ourselves, hosting dance pieces whose movement language comes from African street dance.
