Woman King — divine feminine power

Beginner Camp — African street dance from the first step, at OYOFE Vol. 11, Barcelona, 10 to 13 December 2026.

OYOFE Vol. 11 · African Street Dance Festival · 10 to 13 December 2026

Start here. 9+ classes across four days, all of it designed for newcomers, and for dancers who want to take it slow and learn the foundations of the styles.

The camp

We start from zero

The hardest part of any dance festival is the first class, when everyone else seems to already know what is happening. The Beginner Camp exists so that moment never happens. Its own room, its own pace, and teachers who start at the beginning because that is what they came to teach.

Two or three classes each morning across four days, enough to learn without being overwhelmed by too much information. Then the afternoon and evening belong to you as much as to anyone: the social events, the welcome night, the ShowOff, the battles, the closing party. Same festival, same floor, from day one.

Who it is for

People who are new to these dance styles, or want to take it slow

No experience. No fitness requirement. No age limit. If you have watched African street dance and thought I would love to do that but I would be terrible: that sentence is the entry requirement. Come alone; most people do, and they leave with new friends. This year we are building on that with our new social events.

Already dancing and want to go deeper into fewer things? The main camp runs the same four days, with more styles, more teachers, and a room that moves faster.

Line-up

Announced soon

Teachers are being confirmed

Vol. 11 is built around Woman King — the Agojie, the all-woman regiment of the Kingdom of Dahomey — and the line-up is being chosen to match. Names go up here as each one is confirmed, and the newsletter gets them first.

Schedule

Four days, day by day

The Beginner Camp room. Times are set; the teacher in each class is announced as it is confirmed. Afternoons are yours, and every evening is included.

Evenings are shared by all three camps. The full grid, with every room side by side, goes up closer to the festival.
